Scientific symposium on sensors and sensor networks: Sense. Enable. SPITSE. 2014
Within the framework of strategic partnership between SPITSE Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany), ETU "LETI" and Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MEI) scientific symposium on sensors and sensor networks: Sense. Enable. SPITSE. 2014 will be held.
Within the framework of strategic partnership SPITSE between Ilmenau University of Technology (Germany), Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI"" and National Research University "MPEI" (Strategische Partnerschaft der ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Fakultäten der Technischen Universität Ilmenau (TUIL) mit der Staatlichen Elektrotechnischen Universität St. Petersburg (ETU) und der Nationalen Forschungsuniversität Moskauer Energetisches Unstitut (MEI)) scientific symposium on sensors and sensor networks: Sense. Enable. SPITSE. 2014 will be held at the TU Ilmenau from June, 7 to June, 18 (http://www.tu-ilmenau.de/spitse/symposium-2014/). The event organized with the support of Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Research Community (DFG), the International Institute of Engineers in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) includes scientific conference and Youth Scientific School for undergraduate and graduate students.
In the period from June 7, 2014 to June 11, 2014 scientific conference was held, where about 70 papers, including 17 invited were presented. 14 people from ETU "LETI" led by the rector Professor V. M. Kutuzov participated in the conference. Totally the conference was attended by about 50 people among whom were not only representatives of the partner universities of Russia and Germany, but also employees of other foreign universities and companies. So professor of Technical University of Lappeenranta (Finland) Erkki Lyahderanta (Erkki Lähderanta), coordinator of joint master's program with the ETU "LETI" in the field of Technical Physics, presented report on successful experience of mutually beneficial cooperation with Russian partners. Honored lecturer IEEE-MTT, professor of University of Texas at Arlington (USA) Jun-Chi Chao (Jun-Chih Chao) made invited presentation on "Wireless Implantable medical devices and systems."
During the conference competition for the best scientific paper of young scientists and students was held. 5 best reports were awarded special diplomas. Authorship of 4 of them belongs to young scientists of ETU "LETI". Work of graduate student of Bioengineering Systems Department Anna Glazova on "Remote monitoring of patients with COPD using computer analysis of respiratory sounds" won the first prize.
Meeting on further development of strategic partnership of three universities SPITSE was held on September, 9. Acccording to the results of the meeting tripartite protocol of intent on creating a virtual educational institution on the basis of "Russian-German engineering faculty ETU and TU Ilmenau" and "German engineering faculty MEI - TU Ilmenau" was signed as well as the development of cooperation in the field of research and education to improve competitiveness of the partner universities.
During the Youth Scientific School, which is held as a part of symposium from June 14 to June 18, a competition for the best student research project will be held.
The symposium SPITSE will be held in summer 2015 in ETU "LETI", and in 2016 a symposium is to be held in Moscow Power Engineering Institute.
