Scientific Articles Done Right: Course by a Lecturer from Greece
Eight lectures will be held for LETI researchers on writing and preparing research papers for publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
From October 15 to November 9, Dr. Lazaros Moysis from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) will lead a seminar of eight lectures that cover aspects of academic writing and publishing, from properly formatting the content and structuring the paper to understanding journal metrics, peer review, and preparing a conference presentation.
The seminar consists of two parts. In the first part, Dr. Moysis will present the programming language of Latex. Latex is a document preparation system that offers easy to organize paper structuring, quick referencing and citation management, and excellent document printing, making it a great option for writing a thesis or research paper.
In the second part of the seminar, Dr. Lazaros Moysis will discuss various aspects of academic publishing. He will give general directions as to how one can approach the task of studying a subject and writing a paper and what should be included in it. The lecturer will explain the various aspects of the publication process, from journal metrics to the peer review process, and give general directions for presenting work at conferences.
This course is aimed at young researchers interested in publishing their scientific manuscripts in foreign peer-reviewed journals.
Lectures will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 17:20. The total duration is 16 hours.
