"Love What You Do and Do What You Love": LETI Сelebrated Knowledge Day
On September 1, LETI celebrated the start of the academic year with an online morning show attended by professors, students, and graduates.
For one morning, the Laboratory of Intelligent Mobile Systems at ETU "LETI" turned into a TV studio. In a live broadcast of the Morning Show of First Electrotechnical, organized by the Center for Cultural and Educational Work, viewers were able to dive deep into student life. Faculty members, alumni, students, including, of course, first-year students, were the guests of the program.
Viktor Sheludko, Rector of ETU "LETI," congratulated students on Knowledge Day: "Today, LETI is the leading technical university in Russia, training in-demand engineers for the country's digital economy, developing breakthrough technologies at the frontier of the global research agenda, setting development trends in artificial intelligence, wireless technologies, electrical engineering, and electronics."
"Dear friends, undergraduate and graduate students! We have high hopes for you, connected with the development of our university. I sincerely wish you success in education and science, sports, and art!"
Rector individually addressed the first-year students, who are now members of the great and friendly LETI family: "I am sure that during the years of study you will meet new friends, teachers, and – most importantly – get a quality education." He wished teachers health, strength, prosperity, patience, and accomplishments.
"To get to know the university, you must first get to know those under whose guidance you will study and research," the hosts of the online show, LETI students Daria Ilyicheva and Timofey Bobylkov, are sure. Viktor Malyshev, Dean of the Faculty of Radio Engineering, and Kirill Krinkin, Director of the Popov International Innovation Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Communications, came to greet the students in the studio. Viktor told about the differences between the students of 2021 and 15 years ago and his student years. Kirill invited all the students to the classes at the Laboratory of Intelligent Mobile Systems, where researchers work on modeling the behavior of autonomous systems in the urban environment based on the Duckietown project.
In your spare time away from lectures, seminars, and labs, you can sing, dance, draw, join intellectual games club, play sports, realize your journalistic potential in the student Media Center, be a member of the student brigades, or environmental activist.
Dmitry Fedosov, Chair of the Trade Union Organization of ETU "LETI" Students, spoke about the opportunities offered by membership in the organization. Elena Gukhman, Chair of the Student Council, wished all students good luck: "I love what I do, and, of course, I need to be energized in the morning. The more you do, the more you manage, but a cup of coffee and cheerful music in headphones help a lot. The main thing is to believe in your strength, to want, and to be excited!"
Anh-Tu Pham, a student from Vietnam, and Nagham Aldabool, a student from Syria, Semen Khakhulin and Nikolai Yanchuk, graduates of 2021, representatives of student supervision, university basketball team, environmental club, and, of course, first-year students were also guests of the studio. According to the schedule, the academic year for more than two thousand newcomers will start later: they will get acquainted with university life on September 13.
Performances by the creative groups of the ART Center of LETI – the vocal studio Hello and the ModStep dance group – created the festive atmosphere of the morning show, and a gambling quiz allowed each spectator, even on the other side of the screen, to become a full-fledged participant.
Happy Knowledge Day! Welcome to LETI!
