Green Mark from students is a quality mark for ETU “LETI”
ETU “LETI” received the Green Mark award of the fifth annual rankings of Russian universities 2020, prepared by the Social Navigator project of Rossiya Segodnya news agency jointly with the Tabituent portal based on student reviews.
ETU “LETI” students commended the educational process, the professionalism of professors, the university atmosphere, the attitude of the dean's office and the academic unit towards students, the research possibilities, participation in international exchange programs and obtaining a foreign diploma, prospects for internships and employment in partner-enterprises, as well as the diversity of student life and the rich traditions of the university.
The "Russian universities from students' perspective - 2020" ranking includes 203 state universities in Russia. Experts analyzed more than 45 thousand reviews, which amounted to 2000 pages of texts. More than 66,000 web users and website administration determined the truthfulness of reviews.
The 15 best universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk received the Green Mark award. Among the St. Petersburg universities, in addition to St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI," the leaders also included St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg Mining University, and the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University.
This year, the Green Mark award was the fourth in a row for ETU “LETI” since 2017.
"The Green Mark is well-deserved! Students and professors do everything possible and impossible for ETU “LETI” to be among the leaders. People are so passionate about their business that they simply do not notice how quickly the day passes and the late evening comes. Sometimes even security guards ask activists to leave the university, as the time is late and it is high time to rest. I think that everything will be fine with the rankings in those organizations where people have strong motivation.”
The methodology for compiling the ranking is based on the analysis of the so-called "leaks," detailed reviews of universities left by users of the Tabiturient website, which may include students, professors, university staff, and people who are familiar with the situation at the university.
Each "leak" goes through several stages of verification. At the first stage, the editors of the website eliminate unreasonable and suspicious reviews and post approved texts on the VK social page of the Tabituent project. By voting, the page members determine whether to trust this opinion or not, after which the authors of the rankings decide on considering the feedback in the evaluation of the university. Each "leak" has its weight - the number of people who supported the review. Thus, a university’s ranking depends on not only the number of positive, neutral, or negative “leaks,” but also on the number of users who agree with the opinion.
Then, the index is calculated using a special formula, which translates into a mark on a five-point scale. Universities that have received grades of 4 and 5 receive the Green Mark.
