ETU "LETI" Young Researchers Conference is a "point of entry" to international scientific cooperation
Participants of the 2020 IEEE Conference of Russian Young Researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering made more than 400 presentations in English at ETU "LETI."
The scientific event brought together educators and young researchers involved in the industrial automation; generation, distribution, conversion and use of electrical energy; development, operation, and optimization of electronic components; creation and application of various electronic devices and devices.
The purpose of the conference is to familiarize young researchers with international scientific activities, compare the research results in electrical engineering and electronics of various Russian and foreign universities, and exchange opinions on the most pressing issues.
Sergey Shaposhnikov, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Quality Systems of ETU "LETI," who organized the first ElConRus and led the IEEE Russia North West Section for many years, opened the conference. Sergei Tarasov, Director of the Department of Science, Head of the Department of Photonics, and Mikhail Shestopalov, Chair of the IEEE Russia North West Section, Head of the Department of Automation and Control Processes addressed the conference participants with welcoming speeches.
In their speeches, they emphasized that 2020 ElConRus is the largest scientific conference for young researchers in Russia and an important event to present the research results not only for young researchers but also for other scientists working in the field of electrical engineering and electronics.
Andrey Tumarkin, Professor of the Department of Physical Electronics and Technology, made a plenary presentation on segmented ferroelectrics.
During the conference, participants made 400 reports in 12 sections devoted to telecommunications, electrical engineering, programming, information security, automation and control systems, photonics, signal processing and analysis, biomedical engineering, industrial management, and other scientific areas.
Young ETU "LETI" researchers presented more than 150 papers prepared by 360 people. For many participants of the 2020 ElConRus conference, this was the first experience of the presentation of their research.
"For all conference participants who spoke at the conference, it is a good school for entering into international scientific cooperation. The level of the event is increasing every year. Thus, in comparison with the last year, participants made 100 more papers. For several years, right after the conference, we are immediately asked the question: "Will you hold the conference next year?" Of course, we will!"
St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" organized the event. The financial sponsor of the conference was the Russia North West Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is an international non-profit association that brings together specialists in engineering, computing, and technology information.
