The unification of the university domain name is carried out in connection with the Competitiveness Program of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” taking into account the recommendations of leading rating agencies. It will allow systematizing university internet resources and will contribute to the successful promotion of ETU on the Internet.

“Today, the university has two domain names: and Public information on the Internet is often spread between two domain names. As a result, it is difficult to analyze the university Internet presence, including calculating some indicators for Project 5-100. To end this undesirable effect for the university, it was decided to accumulate all the information on one domain name.”

Alexey Safonov, Head of Website Directorate

The transfer of the university official website to a new domain name with the connection of the secure HTTPS protocol will happen on November 11, 2018. The new address of the official university website will be used from November 12, 2018.

According to Alexey Safonov, such a transition will not cause problems for website users. They will be redirected from the old domain name to a new one.

All email addresses of employees, lecturers, and students will be transferred to the domain name until January 31, 2019. This will affect some lecturers and employees who have opened an email account in the domain, as well as all students. Today, the email addresses for students are in the domain zone. All old addresses will continue to work. Mail will be received at all previously existing addresses and sent from the address.

All the university websites and information systems will be transferred to the domain name until April 30, 2019. The ETU library website will also be transferred to the new domain name.
