The third Annual Conference “Current Issues of Linguistics (CIL)”

The objective of the 3rd Annual CIL Conference is to provide its participants a platform to exchange the latest scientific information as well as to present their developments and to share their views on current issues of linguistics. Both professors and students are welcome to present their papers.

The CIL Conference 2014 is devoted to the following issues:

  1. Theoretical issues of linguistics:
  • Theoretical and methodological issues of research in the field of phonetics, phonology, morphology, lexicology, syntax, textology; 
  • Current issues of Comparative linguistics and Typological linguistics;
  • Semantic research in linguistics;
  • Current research in Cognitive, Functional and Generative linguistics; 
  • Translation and interpretation studies;
  • Stylistics and Dialectology;
  • Language and culture interaction;
  • Intercultural communication as a linguistic issue,

2.      Practical issues of linguistics:

  • Quantitative linguistics and Computer linguistics;
  • The artificial language for “man-machine” and “man-man” systems creation prospects;
  • Forensic linguistics and practice of translation;
  • Theory of communication and speech standards;
  • Discourse and speech acts research issues;
  • Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics: current state and prospects;
  • Foreign language and linguistic discipline teaching methods;
  • Interaction of cultures and languages in the Baltic and Scandinavian regions.

The 3rd Annual Conference “Current Issues of Linguistics (CIL)” is organized by the Foreign languages department of the Saint-Petersburg State Electrotechnical University “LETI”.
