Master's programs

The following programs in Communication Technologies and Communication Systems (11.04.02) are available:

  1. Object Quality Control (Department of Radio Engineering Systems);
  2. Wireless Infocommunication networks (Department of Radio Electronic Facilities).

Key points

The program is focused on theory and technical details of using electromagnetic radiation and waves through modules like:

  • Basics of Radio engineering and Communication;
  • Technical Electrodynamics;
  • Antennae and Feeder Devices and Radiowave Dissemination;
  • Microprocessor Devices;
  • Basics of Infocommunication Network Design, etc.

The "Object Quality Control" program teaches methods of controlling systems/objects of different nature – technical, biological, ecological. Both special and basic courses help prepare specialists capable of working in most marketable technical and scientific spheres.
The "Wireless Infocommunication Networks” program provides students with the means to study telecommunication systems, designing radio electrical devices and computer networks, and modern methods for digital signal processing. The program also teaches space radio communication, cell service, microwave devices in telecommunication systems, radio monitoring technology and more.

The labs of the department are equipped with radio measuring microwave hardware, antennae and microwave set-ups and cell service systems.

International internships and training

The best students are given the opportunity to get enrolled in a double-degree program abroad, in particular, within the framework of joint educational programs.

The main partner universities are stated below:

  • Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland);
  • University of Oulu (Finland);
  • University of Aalto (Finland).

Also the main international partners of the Department are the following universities and research centers:

  • Teknologian tutkimuskeskus VTT, Uusimaa (Finland)
  • Maxisat-yhtiöt Oy, Uusimaa (Finland)
  • Kouvola Innovation Ltd, Kymenlaakso (Finland).

Your future career

Graduates acquire skills in PC and network; can manage digital modelling of certain devices, systems and processes, use the most modern application packages.

Our master’s students conduct scientific research at a very high level which is facilitate by our connections with the leading organizations and companies, such as the Research Institute of Emergency Prognosis and Prevention, RAS Research Institute of the Human Brain, Federal Centre of Heart, Blood and Endocrinology etc. The latter provided the basis for establishing a department, where our educators often work.

In addition, during the studies, the best students have a unique opportunity to work at the department as a laboratory assistants in their free time.
