Research Institute of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications

The Research Institute of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications was established in 2010 owing to the results of joint activities of the Research Laboratory of Radio Systems and Signal Processing, the Research Laboratory of Signal Analysis and Wave Radioelectronics and the Department of Theoretical Fundamentals of Radio Engineering.

The achieved results have led to an increase in funding and the need to create a new structure. The institute comprises above-mentioned research laboratories.

The tasks of the Research Institute of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications

  • conduct fundamental, exploratory and applied R&D financed by commercial contract and budgets of various levels;
  • produce and supply products developed in the framework of R&D;
  • take part in implementing federal, departmental, international, and university scientific and technical programs and grants;
  • involve faculty members, doctoral students, graduate and undergraduate students in implementing R&D, scientific and technical programs and grants;
  • exchange scientific and technical information with external organizations;
  • organize scientific workshops, conferences, meetings on the institute activity areas.

In 2010, the Research Laboratory of Radio Engineering Facilities of Information Transmission was established as part of the institute, where contractual works for industrial enterprises are carried out.

The institute employs 35 full-time and about 40 part-time workers. The staff consists of 2 doctors of technical sciences, 8 candidates of technical sciences, 23 lecturers and staff members of ETU, 5 graduate, and more than 15 undergraduate students.
