The Department Branch of Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials in Radio Electronics was organized at the Grebenshchikov Institute of Silicate Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2010.

The department works with final-year students and trains masters who are able to work at modern high-tech enterprises engaged in the creation of competitive products from nanostructured materials (ceramic, metal-ceramic, composite) for innovative industries.

In the laboratories of the department, students study modern technological methods for the synthesis of nanoparticles and nanomaterials to create new promising micro- and nanoelectronic devices, gain skills in working with modern analytical equipment (atomic force microscopy, electron probe microanalysis, scanning and transmission electron microscopy and others).
